pre Boston DrupalCon: disaster my macbook crashed
Argh why does this always happen My macBook crashed last night - while trying to get a clients site done + writing the last part of my sex Drupal & rock n roll session for boston.
So this is actually a plea for help! - ill be arriving friday afternoon in boston - so if theres any macgeeks there pretty please if anybody are able to help ill be soooooo happy - ill even bring beers n stuff from the old country...
The state of my mac right now is that i can boot it - but then it just goes cold :/..

Does it allow you to login and then go into sleep mode?
It could be that your processor is overheating -- which is a common issue with macBooks as they get older.
You might try using a cooling fan or chill mat to keep it running while you diagnose. Use the 'Console' utility and see if you see any Overheating errors.
If you haven't tried it
If you haven't tried it already, you should get your system disks and boot using those (by holding down apple-key and c). Then once you're booted off the cd use the disk repair utility and see if that will get your hard drive bootable again.
You can also boot the hard drive into single-user mode (apple-key and s), and then type 'fsck -y' at the prompt. Some computers need 'fsck -f -y' just depending. Good luck.
